The heart of Jersey! I was born in Edison, NJ and raised in North Brunswick. I found spending most of my time as a kid outdoors. Some of activities included long bike rides, building ramps and jumping off of them, taking my toys and parents belongings apart (like the television set), got beat for that one. lol! What can I say, I was a very wild, mischievous child. One time I jumped a ramp and my front wheel got caught in a ditch when I landed. I flew over my handle bars approximately 15 feet. Some of the kids from the neighborhood saw it and one of them gave me the nick name "Superman". Who would have known back then what my nick name foreshadowed!
When I was 4 years old my grandfather brought a pair of Indian Percussion called Tablas from India for me. Before that time I was putting dents in my moms pots, pans and Tupperware containers. I also tried making my own drums set with pineapple juice cans and stretching saran wrap over plastic containers. My sense of rhythm grew as the years passed.
As time went on, I focused my energy in what fascinated me like how gadgets worked and play doe. One gadget I couldn't get my hands off of was my parents dual tape deck, radio, turntable combo receiver. I would take my parents old Hindi vinyl and scratch it to the radio. Little did I know that I was really "scratching" the records. From then on I had a interest in mixing records.
